Reul Sport, based in Verviers, showcased its \u2018Minotor\u2019 \u2013 a vehicle from the rally-raid \u2018Challenger\u2019 category, designed to one day compete in the Dakar Rally and other events in the FIA \u200b\u200bWorld Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On November 28 and 29, this exciting story continues at the 2026 Spa Rally, and this time, the vehicle will actually be in action. The Minotor CH1 will take to the special stages, before the course-opening zero car. Behind the wheel will be none other than St\u00e9phane Sarrazin, the project\u2019s development driver \u2013 a spectacle guaranteed to delight the spectators!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cThe Minotor project is progressing very smoothly; in fact, we even took part in a three-day Baja event in Italy this year. During the final stage, we were the fastest vehicle in the \u2018Challenger\u2019 category \u2013 bar none!\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;says Quentin Schmitz on behalf of the Reul Parts Rally Raid Project.&nbsp;<em>\u201cA total of four chassis have been built so far, with two vehicles already homologated and race-ready. We will soon decide whether to head to Portugal and Morocco as part of our preparations for the 2027 Dakar Rally \u2013 following the ASO\u2019s decision to map out a new route due to well-known issues in Saudi Arabia. In any case, it is certain that we will be present at the Spa Rally to perform some demonstration runs, with St\u00e9phane Sarrazin at the controls!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a quick reminder, the Minotor CH1 is a hybrid prototype powered by a 1000cc Rotax engine and two electric motors, delivering a combined 280 hp and weighing of 1,350 kilograms.&nbsp;<em>\u201cIt\u2019s clear that the FIA \u200b\u200bwants to make motorsport greener in the coming years\u201d,<\/em>&nbsp;continues Quentin Schmitz.&nbsp;<em>\u201cWith our Minotor CH1, we are ready to take on new challenges and set the pace in the \u2018Challenger\u2019 category of rally-raid racing.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a sense, we are getting a glimpse into the future of the FIA \u200b\u200bW2RC on the special stages of the Spa Rally, with the vehicle driven by St\u00e9phane Sarrazin \u2013 a man with experience in F1, the WRC, the WEC, and Formula E! He certainly knows his way around a steering wheel.
