Spa Rally Saturday will be a mix of tradition and innovation
Saturday is the highlight of the Spa Rally, featuring nine special stages that really set the pace. Top drivers have a chance to stand out, while others may fall behind. With stages like Fays, Chevron, Trois-Ponts, and Wanne, the 2025 Spa Rally truly lives up to its name as "The Authentic Race."
The sporting debates begin with a classic in the genre, Fays Show (15.600 km). A magnificent stage, slightly modified, as the finish is now at the Chapelle Notre-Dame de l’Epine in Arbespine. The great thing about Fays Show: it will be the only stage to be completed three times, with a nighttime passage at 7:46 PM to conclude the first day. Note: this third stage will be run without the D2 and VHRS competitors, as their race will conclude after SS8 before returning to Spa for the usual party!
Chevron may sound familiar to rally enthusiasts, but this 9.978 km stage has been completely changed compared to last year. Competitors will first storm through the Lienne Valley. Afterwards, they will head towards Chession and Chevron. The village square in this famous rally village is no longer permitted for competition, so DG Sport decided to make it the finish line. This way, the traditional excellent atmosphere on the square will remain unchanged!
The third stage is the Trois-Ponts Show (15.133 km), which includes a passage along the unmissable "S des Poubelles" before heading towards Basse-Bodeux and via the cemetery to Haute-Bodeux. The finish of the stage is identical to 2024.
And last but not least, there's Wanne (13.096 km). This stage is very similar to last year's, with a start on the forest path that arrives in Spineux. It's the very first time in the Spa Rally that it will be run in that direction! Something for daredevils...
A total of 125 kilometres will be raced against the clock on Saturday, with the first podium finish in the centre of Spa at 9:34 AM. The participants will be back shortly after 8:30 PM, and by then we'll know much more. The battle for victory – and a few national titles! – will certainly have evolved somewhat... but given Sunday's program, it's certainly not set in stone yet!
